3rd Film Festival Acceptance!

Hello All!

just wanted to announce that after a beautiful, long day of swimming around town, finding the best yogurt spot in austin, cleaning my apt, cooking, submitting to my latest film to more festivals,pleeing with my landlord to fix my sink, getting the sink replaced, putting off showering, hurting my foot, playing mad gab and apples to apples and saying goodbye to yet another friend for Los Angeles, i got home to good news for "hands."

We are officially selected for the Phoenix Int'l Christian Film Festival!

Unfortunately, attending the festival may not be feasible at this point - pitty because they will be having great workshops on top of showing "hands." to another audience.

We were chosen out of over 300 entries! Praise God! the ultimate producer!

So far, we have two golden leaves for "hands." I have yet to add them to our poster; but we do have a poster now :)

We are waiting to hear back from 3 other festivals.

Second Film Festival Acceptance!!!

Woohoo, everybody.
The Lord is good - "hands." has been accepted to its second film festival:

The New York Faith Film Festival

Info from the email: (received march 31st)

Films selected will be aired on our station NET in New York Time Warner cable channel 97 and Cablevision channel 30. Our station reaches an estimated 5 million viewers with those 2 cable providers combined. The films selected will also air online at our website at NETNY.NET/faithfilmfestival

This year the festival has expanded on the first season by having 12 episodes instead of the original 8 episode format. The festival will run the whole summer and the winners will be announced after the 12th episode. The time and schedule of the festival will be announced later on.

There are several awards for this seasons festival.

The Imago Film Festival showcases faith-based indy film that emphasizes image and story. The festival films capture the full spectrum of human emotion, experience, and spirituality.

I received a festival grant from the University of Texas at Austin
totally $125; so this is the current game plan for that money.

Information for extras!!!

EXTRAS ARE SUPER-DUPER IMPORTANT -- do not underestimate your power in this film!
this movie cannot happen without you!!! *sharon arteaga - the director

We need at least 40 extras on Thursday March 19 and about 30 on friday march 20.

All shooting will be done by 6pm both days; so we need you before then.
- i will post a more specific time during the week.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. & I will give free hugs to all who request it.

Know that:
a) you will have some waiting around
b) you will wear church attire - just pretend you are going to an actual service
c) you will need to raise your hands as if you were worshipping - everyone will be doing this except our lead actress
d) one part requires you to hold your position as if you are a statue
